When it comes to sustainable, environmentally-friendly forest management, Sweden is a world leader. Quite simply, it's in our very souls. Sustainable forest management is incredibly important for the Swedish economy, the thousands of jobs that our forests provide and also for people's well-being. Forests have a calming effect and are an integral part of the country.
There is a right of common access that is unique to Sweden, which allows people to visit and spend time within our forests. This means that we all come into close contact and harmony with nature and wildlife; forests contain so much more than the trees themselves. Forest owners know that they have to manage their forest areas seriously, because they are making an investment for the future, their families and generations to come. Good forest management is economically sensible; increased growth of healthy, straight trees creates better profitability, which is obviously important for the forest owners.
Jarl Timber's raw material sourcing team has extensive, practical experience, working as an all-in contractor for regional forest owners. We work directly with our suppliers without any intermediaries and this all saves time, reduces cost and gives efficiencies and cost savings to both parties, with a far shorter lead time on decisions. Our long standing sub-contractor teams work with us to complete each step of the chain, from planting to felling. By working together, we all ensure that our forests are healthy and develop at nature's own pace. Strict rules are in place and the Swedish forest industry only fells 80% of the new growth that the forests produce each year. The balance is in effect a capital asset that is administered with care, respect and humility.
